Alright ladies and gentlemen, this is it! The moment you’ve all been waiting for! Alright, maybe not everyone, since a couple of our members (and of course thousands around the world) were already able to play the closed alpha test of EA/Dice’s newest project, but for the rest of us: it’s public beta time!
Earlier this morning, a new announcement went up on the official Battlefield 3 website stating that the public beta is now ready for download. All you need to do is follow the instructions at the bottom of the page from the link above, and you’re one step closer to playing [potentially] one of the greatest games ever! Setting up Origin is a breeze (although I haven’t been able to log into my old EA account - anyone else having this problem?), and you can instantly connect to a multiplayer server right through the Battlefield 3 website.
I haven’t been able to put a lot of time into the beta yet, but I will say this: even for having a low-grade computer such as my own, the graphics still looked amazing, movement and visual effects seemed realistic, and the sound… OH EM GEE the sound… now THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is how you make a realistic experience! I couldn’t believe how immersive the sound effects were, everything from the other players’ voices and sounds of the guns going off, so the ambience of tremors, quakes, and explosions going off from far away. As soon as I can get a few hours into this game, I’ll definitely put up a full review on the website for everyone to read. If anyone else is interested in pitching in, I’d be more than happy to have your opinions in the article as well.
Move over, Call of Duty fan boys: Battlefield 3 is on its way, and it’s moving fast! Act now to get in on the limited public beta, as it ends on October 10th. If you don’t get a chance to get into the beta, fear not! The full game is scheduled for release shortly after the beta closes on October 25th.
For all of our community members out there, be sure to keep an eye out on our news articles, as well as our roster page! Although there’s no official word yet, it looks as if we’ll have a few of the BF2 veterans returning to help put Binary back on the map in the Battlefield series, where we once were looked upon as champions, and a top-tier competitive team. Time to go back to the roots!
